The Royal Palace of Riofro is surrounded by more than 600 hectares of large biodiversity forest. The building stands out for its unity of style and its linear, orderly and harmonious aspect, which resonates with the classic echo of the Roman palaces. Despite its uniqueness and the beauty of its surroundings, it was a palace without guests for more than a hundred years, which makes it one of the Royal Sites managed by National Heritage less known to the public but of the most special.

Riofranco forest

The Riofranco Forest is a natural space of extraordinary ecological value. It is located nine kilometres from Segovia and fifteen from San Ildefonso, a municipal term to which it belongs although it is located between the localities of Madrona, Hontoria, Revenga, Navas de Riofranco and La Losa. It has an area of 640 hectares. It is an important ecological and biological reserve in the four ecosystems that represent it: to burn, to taste, to bounce and to fresnede.
