Basilica of San Isidoro and Pantheon Real

It is one of the most outstanding architectural ensembles of the Romanesque style in Spain, for its history, architecture, sculpture, and for the suntuary Romanesque objects that have been preserved. It presents the particularity of having a Royal Pantheon located at the foot of the church, with Romanesque mural painting and exceptional capitals, all of which makes it a unique piece of the Romanesque world of the time. The set was built and magnified during the 11th and 12th centuries. The Pantheon of the Kings of Lion, which is located at the foot of the Basilica of Saint Isidoro of Leon, is the place where during the Middle Ages most of the kings and queens of the kingdom of Lion were buried.
