Naples

(Naples · Campania)

Naples is one of the largest and most charming artistic cities in the Mediterranean. Capital of the Campania region is, by its size, the third Italian municipality after Rome and Milan. The city dominates the same gulf that extends from the Sorrentine peninsula to the volcanic area of Campos Flegreos and offers an extremely evocative view, with the imposing Vesuvio volcano and, to the far away, its three magnificent islands - Capri, Isquia and Procida - that look like small jewels from the sea. In addition to its splendid landscapes, Naples also owes its well-deserved fame to the beautiful historical centre that has 2500 years of history and has been included in 1995 in the World Heritage List and UNESCO.
