Garray
(Garray · Castille and León)
It is part of the region of Soria and is located 8 kilometres north of the Soriana capital. Although found in the foothills of the Iberian Soriano system, the relief is predominantly flat because it is found in the valley of the Duero River. The river Duero enters the municipal term in the northwest, then being embalmed in the reservoir of the Camillo de Buitrago, forming the border with Soria in the south. When he reaches the village he receives the waters of the Tera River and turns south to border the ruins of Numancia and pass to the municipality of Soria. The village rises to 1015 meters above sea level, but to the north-west are the elevations of the Carrea saw, which reaches heights above 1400 meters. The ruins of the city of Numancia are raised in the Cerro de la Muela at 1077 meters. The toponym can come from the Aquitane language and would be related to the voice in Basque 'Garay / Garai' (which means among other things "high place '; of" garai' = high, high) or Garri / Garre (common name with the acceptance of "flame ').
